Flipkart Announces Over 2.5 Lakh Festive Jobs Across India Ahead of Big Billion Days

Flipkart has announced the creation of more than 2.5 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities across its supply chain and logistics network to support rising consumer demand during the upcoming festive season. The seasonal recruitment drive includes nearly 75,000 positions - accounting for close to 30 per cent of the total - dedicated to individuals entering the formal workforce for the first time, establishing pathways into employment across communities nationwide.

Expanding Logistics and Delivery Infrastructure

The new roles span more than 7,000 Ekart facilities across India, encompassing fulfillment centers, sortation hubs, and last-mile delivery operations. Last-mile opportunities account for 60 per cent of the newly created jobs, driven by the expansion of Flipkart Minutes and accelerating demand across Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets.

Workforce Inclusivity and Training

The company continues to advance workforce diversity across its operations. Women currently represent over 20 per cent of supply chain roles, while participation among persons with disabilities has increased within warehouse and delivery teams.  Reflecting on the scale of the expansion, Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Flipkart Group, said, "Commerce at scale creates opportunity at scale, across jobs, livelihoods and entrepreneurship. The nearly 75,000 people entering the workforce for the first time through Flipkart this festive season are one part of that larger ecosystem. As digital commerce grows across India, our responsibility is to ensure that this growth creates pathways into employment and entrepreneurship for more people, including communities that have historically had fewer opportunities to participate in the formal economy. Our work with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, NCVET and ITI Kalyani through SCOA is aimed at creating those pathways, so that people can build skills and careers alongside the growth of the sector."

Elaborating on supply chain preparations, Hemant Badri, Senior Vice President, Supply Chain, Customer Experience and Re-Commerce, Flipkart Group, noted, “The festive season brings together the full scale of India’s commerce ecosystem, and our supply chain plays a critical role in making that possible. Skill Development and Workforce Welfare

Ahead of the festive rush, Flipkart’s Supply Chain Operations Academy (SCOA)- conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, NCVET, and ITI Kalyani - has awarded nearly 10,000 certifications, providing trainees with practical, hands-on experience. Additionally, Flipkart provides welfare support for its supply chain workforce, including medical and accident insurance, 24x7 Doctor on Call services, and assistance with e-Shram registration. Beyond direct employment, the platform's broader ecosystem continues to enable millions of sellers, merchants, and small businesses to participate in digital commerce.
