Salman Khan will be spending another night in Jodhpur Central jail tonight as the Court has reserved his bail plea hearing for tomorrow. Just when the news broke out, Salman's good friend Preity Zinta rushed to see him in Rajasthan. A video of Preity Zinta is doing the rounds on social media where she is seen heading towards her car as she leaves to meet Salman. Fans are tensed about tomorrow as nobody is sure what would happen next. This is Salman's second day in jail as he was sentenced to five years imprisonment in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
Apart from his sisters, as of yet Preity Zinta is the first one to go to Jodhpur to visit Salman. The actor and his family are going through a tough time and Preity wants to stand by him in these testing times.
A penalty of Rs. 10,000 was also levied on him. The actor is accused of killing two blackbucks in the Kankani village near Jodhpur in 1998 during the shooting of the film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'. He was charged under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act and others under Section 51 read with Section 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code.
Jail superintendent Vikram Singh, while briefing the media on the celebrity inmate, said Khan was treated as a normal prisoner and no special treatment was given to him last night. He had simple wooden bed, a rug and a cooler in his cell, Singh said. “He (Khan) was given normal jail diet like Dal chapatti and the morning meal will include simple khichdi," he said. Sources, however, said the Bollywood icon did not eat the jail food.
Singh said that the actor had a blood pressure issue when he came inside the jail and the doctor of the prison dispensary checked him. His blood pressure was later declared normal.
