Akshay Kumar Gets Trolled Again for His Canadian Nationality As Bollywood Comes Out to Vote for Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019

The whole debate over Akshay Kumar's nationality is never going to end any time soon. You might have heard by now that the superstar and National Award winner (for Rustom) is a Canadian National, who holds the passport of that nation a few years back. Initially, Akshay never talked about this much, and whenever he was asked about, he would often dismiss it as 'honorary citizenship'. A little Googling on this topic would make you realise that it is not true. After Accepting to Be a Canadian Citizen, Akshay Kumar’s Old Video Calling ‘Toronto Is My Home’ Goes Viral.

With Akshay getting into the nationalist bandwagon and starring in movies with that flavour, not to mention being an outright supporter of the Narendra Modi government, he gets more flak from the factions who are not in favour of the government. People mostly target his nationality, because Akshay always claims to be a proud Deshbhakt. The trolling is especially harder during election time, since Akshay can't vote because of his Canadian citizenship.  Akshay Kumar's Canadian Passport Saga: 3 Times Kesari Actor Defended His Citizenship in the Past That Contradict His New Stance.

So when most of the Bollywood celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit, Aamir Khan, Sunny Deol, Hrithik Roshan etc came out to vote, Twitterati is asking Akshay if he will turn out to vote too! What stings more is that the Canadian elections are also happening at the same time.

Recently, Akshay was caught in another big controversy when an old quote of his, where he compared actresses to mangoes, went viral. Sonakshi Sinha, talking about whom led to Akshay make that comparison, came out in support of the actor, saying that she never felt insulted by what he said. Currently, the actor is in the midst of promoting his upcoming film, Housefull 4, that is releasing on October 25.
