Amitabh Bachchan, at a recent press conference for Kaun Banega Crorepati 11, when asked about his efforts to contribute had revealed that he was not one of those people who publicised his contributions to such causes. However, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, not only revealed Amitabh's contributions to Kolhapur, Satara and Sangli districts that have been ravaged by floods, but also thanked the superstar. Amitabh Bachchan on Maharashtra Floods: Many Stars Do Charity but Don't Discuss It

While Amitabh Bachchan made his contribution to the Chief Minister's relief fund, actor Nana Patekar pledged to build 500 houses for those who have lost their homes in the floods. Actors Riteish Deshmukh and wife Genelia also donated Rs 25 lakh to the CM Relief fund and temple trust of Shirdi donated Rs 10 crore and Mumbai's Lalbag Cha Raja gave Rs 25 Lakhs. Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Donate Rs 25 Lakhs for CM Devendra Fadnavis Maharashtra Flood Relief Initiative

A huge section of Marathi actors also took an active part in doing their bit for the flood-affected areas and even took to twitter to trend #marathikalakarformaharashtra, asking for help. Marathi actor and director Subodh Bhave appealed for materials to be given instead of funds and was quoted as saying, "We have contacted the collectors of Sangli and Kolhapur and asked them what relief materials they need. We will be putting up collection stalls at Mumbai, Thane and Pune and the donations will be directed towards Collector Offices in Sangli and Kolhapur.”

Staying true to his words that he will never publicise such donations, this revelation was made by Devendra Fadnavis and not the star. The CM of Maharashtra urged the nation to make donations to help salvage Kolhapur, Satara and Sangli districts which have been adversely affected by floods.
