The popular villain of the 90s, Mahesh Anand passed away today morning at his residence in Versova. He was a well-known antagonist who was missing from the Bollywood scenario since the past 18 years. Though the real cause of his death is not known yet, his body was taken to the Cooper hospital for a postmortem. The actor used to stay alone at his Mumbai residence after he divorced his wife in 2002. When Peeping Moon.com contacted his ex-wife Usha Bachani about his sudden demise, she was unaware about it. "I was unaware that he passed away. We are not in touch since 2002", said his former wife.

Earlier in an interview to Cinestaan.com, Mahesh had revealed that he didn’t have movie offers for 18 years. He was facing some monetary crisis and there was a time when he used to take part in wrestling matches to earn bread and butter for himself. Recently the actor appeared in Govinda starrer, Rangeela Raja that released in January this year. The actor was elated to star in a movie after such a long time and he took to his Facebook account to share the same news with his followers. "I'm happy after 18 years I had one movie released today,,,,rangeela raja,,,,,,,, i am just there for 6 minutes in the end,,, hope you all will welcome me back" he wrote in his post.

He's well-known for his roles in movies like Kurukshetra, Swarg, Coolie No 1, Vijeta, Shahenshah and more.
