Hema Malini Reveals Dharmendra's Last Wish
Speaking candidly on the Hindi Rush podcast, Malini recalled that Dharmendra’s final conversations heavily centred on family values. According to the veteran actress, his primary focus shifted away from professional achievements toward maintaining strong bonds with the next generation.
"Dharam ji would always say, be with the kids as much as possible," Malini shared during the interview. "Spend time with the children, with the family. He always said, be united with the family, that is very important in today's times."
Malini added that Dharmendra often observed how modern dynamics frequently pull families apart, noting his desire for his family to resist that trend.
Prioritising Family Over Work
When asked specifically about the final, definitive message Dharmendra conveyed to her, Malini stated that his instructions were explicit regarding priorities."This is exactly what he said: 'Be with the family. Be together with all of them. Work can keep happening but family should be given utmost importance,'" she said.
The veteran actor passed away at the age of 89, leaving behind a vast cinematic legacy. His later years were marked by a public fondness for spending time with his grandchildren and interacting with fans online.
