The latest name that has cropped up in the ongoing #MeToo movement in India is probably the most shocking so far. Director of family entertainers like PK, 3 Idiots, Munna Bhai and Sanju, Rajkumar Hirani has been accused of sexual assault by one of his female associates. The woman has said that she faced sexual harassment at the hands of the filmmaker for a prolonged period of time while working on the post-production of Sanju together. The industry has been pre-dominantly mum about this latest development barring a few who have spoken u.p. Add to the latter list the name of popular writer and lyricist, Javed Akhtar.

Javed is known for speaking about political and social issues regularly. He has posted a note on Twitter defending his friend Rajkumar. He has implied that Rajkumar Hirani is the most decent man he knows in the industry. #MeToo in Bollywood: Dia Mirza Reacts to Sexual Harassment Allegations on Rajkumar Hirani; Says ‘It Would Be Grossly Unjust on My Part to Speak on This As I Do Not Know the Details’.
