John Abraham Opens Up About Replacing Aamir Khan in Sarfarosh 2

You thought only Akshay Kumar is on a desh-bhakti mode? John Abraham is also going on the same trend, with his recent movies like Madras Cafe, Parmanu and Satyameva Jayate. And say what, he is enjoying commercial success with these movies too. Even John's upcoming movies are sharing the same trend, be it the encounter drama Batla House or the spy thriller Romeo Akbar Walter. John Abraham has also given the nod to be the lead in the sequel to the 1999 film Sarfarosh. He will be replacing Aamir Khan in the film.

Sarfarosh 2 will be directed by John Mathew Mathan, who has also helmed the first film. In a recent interview to HT, John Abraham talked about replacing Aamir in the sequel and the reason why he was chosen. He had said, "John (the director) met me and said, ‘Hey, I need a younger character for Sarfarosh 2. Are you interested in doing it?’ I was more than happy, and then I decided to produce it, too. I had a lot of faith in John."

So did he speak to Aamir Khan before taking the role? John had this to say, "I didn’t chat with Aamir. John and he have been talking. I am sure he’s got Aamir’s blessings to do this. Aamir is someone I am deeply fond of, and I’m a big fan of his. It’s an honour to be stepping into a role that has such a big history."

Interestingly, John Abraham will also be producing the movie, after the success of Parmanu. So what do you think, reader, will John achieve the same cult status as Aamir did with ACP Rathod? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
