We knew this controversy will not have an early death and it will continue for weeks to come. It was an ordinary song launch that turned out to be an extraordinary affair after Kangana Ranaut accused a journalist of instigating a smear campaign against her. After Entertainment Journalists' Guild of India decided to ban the actress for her rude behaviour, Press Club of Mumbai too has decided to extend their support to this fight. In a recent statement released by the latter, they have willingly taken the side against Kangana Ranaut and if the matter intensifies further, they will not hesitate to take it ahead to various organisations of the filmmakers. "We have examined the footage of various videos and it is clear that while Justin was fully composed, Ms Ranaut was abusive and insulting to Rao accusing him of writing against her movies. While Rao denied he had run a ‘smear campaign’, it must be pointed out that as a journalist he was fully within his rights to criticize her work," read a part of the recent statement issued by Mumbai Press Club.
If Kangana continues her verbal abuse against the media fraternity, the organisation will consider pressing criminal charges of abuse, defamation and intimidation against the actress. While she has already sent a legal notice to the Guild, accusing them of defamation, this recent movie by the Press Club has definitely intensified the matter. It all started during a song launch of her next release, Judgemental Hai Kya when the actress had a verbal spat with an entertainment reporter and before he could even place his side, she continued intimidating him at a public event. Kangana is yet to react to this recent progress and we wonder if an apology is still not an option for her.
