Trust Kangana Ranaut to find ways to stay in news, even when theatres are in lockdown. The National award winning actress recently gave an interview to Arnab Goswami, the editor-chief of Republic TV, where she spoke about the conspiracies surrounding Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide and how the lobbies have involved in his death. She blamed nepotism and production houses of YRF and Dharma as a reason why Sushant took the fatal step. She also targetted the likes of Swara Bhasker and Taapsee Pannu calling them B-Grade actresses. Anurag Kashyap Claims He Helped Aanand L Rai When Kangana Ranaut's Tanu Weds Manu Was Stalled (Read Tweets)

The clips of the interviews have gone viral, with her supporters hailing her for her 'outspoken' attitude and for saying the 'truth'. The others slammed her for pushing her own personal agenda using the tragic demise of a fellow actor, with whom she had least connection with when he was alive.

In response, some have also been circulating old videos of Kangana in public events, where she downplays privilege and nepotism, when it comes to getting success in Bollywood. Kangana Ranaut 'Willing' to Return her Padma Shri Award if Her Claims About Sushant Singh Rajput's Death Don't Come True.

Like this video taken during the India Today 2012 Conclave, where she speaks how not having a godfather when your film releases and the audience accepts you.

At the beginning of the clip, you hear her praising Mahesh Bhatt, who had launched her with Gangster, while currently she is at loggerheads with all the Bhatts. You can check the expanded version of the video below:

In the above video, to journalist Rahul Kanwal's question on how hard it was to succeed in a industry without a godfather, Kangana was more diplomatic in her reply. She said, "The truth is, it really doesn't matter. It's hard to get that first break. But once your film releases, it's up to the audiences and so many have been rejected, no matter where you have come from - mountains, like me, or from California, it really doesn't matter. It's the people who decide, nothing really matters then. So I think each one has their own struggle to go through." Taapsee Pannu Slams Kangana Ranaut for Discrediting Her Hard Work and Blames Her for Taking Advantage of Someone’s Death for Personal Vendetta.

Compare this to the Kangana of recent times, who has been targeting star kids like Alia Bhatt, Sonam Kapoor etc left, right and centre, and we wonder what went wrong in all these years.

Another clip that is going viral was posted by journalist/critic Anna M Vetticad, who had been targeted by Kangana's fans, over her tweets critical of the actress' new stand.

This video clip taken from a 2010 interview by the actress to the journalist, Kangana downplays the star-kid system and how she herself had used 'quota system' in the past. You can watch the whole interview below:

In the interview, Kangana does say how star-kids are more protected compared to outsiders. She refers to an incident during an early phase of her career, when a director shouted at her for being late to sets. She said that such humiliation on sets were uncalled for, especially when she was just 17 years old then, and that star-kids wouldn't have faced such an issue. When asked most of the actresses in Bollywood are outsiders, Kangana added that they have a mentor, either "a big star boyfriend or a big hero or a big director". So they are not exactly an outsider, as per Kangana's version.

However, she also added that such system is good, while also mentioning it is very difficult to make it on your own. When asked to clarify why she said it is good, Kangana said, "Why I am saying is good is the kind of background I come from. My father is a businessman, my mother is a teacher and my grandfather is an IAS officer. My great-grandfather is a freedom fighter. When  I was giving my pre-Medical Test, so I had particular quota for me, because I come from this particular family. So when I come here (Bollywood), so how I look at star-kid children is that they have 30% quota how I had. So I am just coming into their territory. If somebody else would have tried that PMT test, they wouldn't get that percentage of quota. That's how I look at it."

A good analogy here, though we are not sure what quota Kangana is referring to, since 15% quota in PMT is reserved for SC candidates, 8% for ST candidates and 27% for non-creamy layer OBC candidates. And Kangana doesn't belong to any of those.

Anyway, it is upto you to decide which Kangana Ranaut you prefer - the pre-2014 cool-headed Kangana or the Kangana we have now, who is contradicting her past self's thoughts. Share your own thoughts in the comments section below.
