The entire nation along with the political and film fraternity is shook by the news of DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi’s death. The popular face that he was, his demise has deeply affected the cine stars too. Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan is heartbroken with the news. There are a few photos of him sharing the stage with the former Tamil Nadu chief minister. Now, the legendary actor took social media account to share bits about his memories with him including his first National Award.

He shared, ‘T 2893 - பிரார்த்தனை மற்றும் இரங்கல் , for the Honourable and dynamic leader Shri Karunanidhi .. I received my very 1st National Award for 'Saat Hindustani' from him, when the ceremony was held in Chennai that year.. he was the CM ..’

South star Kamal Haasan too got sentimental. He revealed how he knew Kalaignar as a writer first. Speaking about he said, "I knew Karunanidhi-ji as a writer before I knew him as a politician. The language we actors used is that of Karunanidhi's. He had an incredible flow in his writing, which was very elegant. There was a call by the Tamilians for a leader, and he was the one who filled that role."

Karunanidhi’s body mortal remains have been kept at Rajaji Hall and a flood of people is present there to pay last respect. He will be buried next to Annadurai, the first chief minister of Tamil Nadu.
