Kangana Ranaut's latest outing Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, which released in 3,000 screens across the country, is enjoying a decent run at the domestic market despite facing tough competition from the blockbuster holdover release Uri: The Surgical Strike starring Vicky Kaushal and Sonam Kapoor's new release Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. After seeing a dip on the second Friday, Kangana starrer Manikarnika has witnessed a solid growth on day 9 (on Saturday) as it collected Rs 5.25 crore. Earlier today, Film Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to the micro-blogging site to share the official collection of the film. He wrote, "#Manikarnika gathers momentum on [second] Sat... India biz. #Hindi #Tamil #Telugu" Helmed by Krish Jagarlamudi, Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is a period drama, in which Kangana essays the role of a warrior Queen Jhansi; the actress underwent hardcore physical training for the same.

Talking about the movie, our in-house film critic Sreeju Sudhakaran wrote in his review, "Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi deserves to be praised for retelling an important chapter in history. Kangana Ranaut's performance will be a treat for her fans. Manikarnika would have attained greater heights, though, if there has been a tighter rein over the writing, the editing, the length and used the supporting cast in an effective way."
