History has been made. The name of the Miss Universe 2018 has been announced and Catriona Gray from the Philippines has been crowned as the winner. This is the fourth time the Philippines will be taking the crown home. Passing on her warm wished is former Miss Universe from India, Sushmita Sen. The gorgeous diva who won the bejewelled crown in 1994 took to her Twitter and posted a heartfelt message for the newest holder of the title. She wrote, "Congratulations #Philippines Another richly deserved victory!! A stunning & well spoken #MissUniverse2018 Catriona Gray  Mahal Kita from Sush Mita I love you guys!!!!"

Sushmita's love for the Philippines goes way back. In 1994, when she won the crown, the pageant was held in the very country in Pasay city. Sushmita became extremely popular in the Philippines post her win. So much so, that many girls born in that year were named Sushmita by their parents. On her recent visit to the Philippines, two years back, Sushmita was introduced to 9 women named Sushmita Sen by a TV channel. So you can understand, Sush must have been very happy to have a title holder from the country that loves her just as much as India does. This was the 67th edition of the Miss Universe pageants. Venezuela's Sthefany Gutiérrez is the second runner-up while South Africa'sTamaryn Green is the first runner-up. The event was held in Thailand for the third time. Our heartiest wishes go out to all the three ladies.

India has won the Miss Universe crown only twice in 67 years. First by, of course, Sushmita Sen in 1994. The second time was when Lara Dutta brought the crown home in 2000.
