Just as we thought that the trend of remakes is finally gone, here comes a new one. Through out the last two years we have been bombarded with several remakes of the popular hit tracks from the 90s. These songs which have special memories in the minds of the fans for its originality, were remade with a twist and most of them could not impress the audience. Joining this bandwagon is Sonakshi Sinha through her remake of "Mungda" for Ajay Devgn's Total Dhamaal.

The iconic song of veteran actress Helen from the film Inkaar was a rage in late 70s, sung by Usha Mangeshkar. The song is still fresh in the minds and even gen x is in love with the track. Now, the makers of Total Dhamaal have decided to remake this track for the comedy film. Aamir Khan to Share Screen Space With Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit in Total Dhamaal?

Sonakshi tweeted, "Honoured and looking forward to recreate the iconic #Mungda with @ajaydevgn. My second song of lovely Helen aunty this year, hope she loves it too!!! Watch out for #TotalDhamaal in cinemas on 7th Dec.!" Earlier, we saw Sonakshi and Ajay Devgn in Son of Sardaar and they have once again united for this item song.

Speaking of remakes, recently, there was a lot of backalash received by the Baaghi 2 makers for recreating the iconic Madhuri Dixit song 'Ek Do Teen' from Tezaab. Although the makers call it 'tribute', the fans only tend to relate it to the original composition, which is fair enough. Earlier, we saw remakes like Laila, Tamma Tamma, Humma Humma, Dilbar, Saara Zamana, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Keh Doon Tumhe to name a few. What are your thoughts on this?
