Actor Ritvik Sahore is gearing up for his next major cinematic outing in Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam, where he essays the role of Aniket Nikam, the son of renowned special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam. Directed by Avinash Arun, the film stars Rajkummar Rao in the titular role of the celebrated lawyer, alongside an ensemble cast featuring Wamiqa Gabbi and Jaideep Ahlawat. Following the recent release of its official trailer, the courtroom drama is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 16, 2026. ‘Prahaar’ Song ‘Mere Rehte’: Vishal Mishra Sings a Heroic Tribute As Rajkummar Rao Fights for Justice.
Reflecting on his character and the dynamic at the heart of the story, Ritvik shared, “It was truly an honour to be a part of Prahaar and get the opportunity to play Aniket Nikam. It is an important part in the film, and it was fun exploring Aniket’s relationship with his father, Ujjwal Nikam, and how the family stood together through everything. The film also explores the personal life of Ujjwal Nikam — while he was busy fighting for justice for India, his family was holding fort and was the support system behind him.”
While widely recognised today as a mainstay in popular web series such as Flames, Indori Ishq, Campus Diaries, Jamnapaar, and Highway Love, Ritvik’s career began as a child actor. He made his feature film debut in Ferrari Ki Sawaari—a performance that earned him a nomination for Best Child Artist at the Screen Awards—before appearing in the blockbuster Dangal. Over the years, his talent has garnered critical acclaim globally, including the Best Performance award at the China International Children’s Film Festival for Gauru: Journey of Courage and the Best Actor accolade at the Mumbai International Film Festival for To Remember Me By.
Highlighting the historical significance of the film's narrative, Ritvik noted, “A lot of movies have been made around what happened on the night of 26/11, but not many know what went into the courtrooms after, to establish the crimes committed by Kasab. I feel it is an extremely important chapter that needed to be told.”
Collaborating with industry stalwarts proved to be another highlight of the project for the actor. “It was an enriching experience for me as an actor to work alongside Rajkummar Rao and under the direction of Avinash Arun, two greats of the industry. I am extremely proud of the film and feel blessed that I got to be a part of such an important story,” he expressed. ‘Prahaar’ Trailer: Rajkummar Rao Brings Ujjwal Nikam’s Untold Pursuit of Justice to Life, CM Devendra Fadnavis Attends Launch.
