The buzz around Amitabh Bachchan-Hema Malini starrer Satte Pe Satta remake has been high. It was almost confirmed that the film will star Shah Rukh Khan in Big B's role. However, as per the latest reports, it is Hrithik Roshan who has been chosen for the role. The Farah Khan directorial will have the same story but set in the new age set up. But why did they choose Hrithik over Shah Rukh Khan? The reason is his age, apparently! Sushmita Sen Wants to Do ‘Main Hoon Na Returns’ With Shah Rukh Khan and We Hope Farah Khan Is Listening.

A source told pinkvilla.com, "Farah has already discussed the idea with Hrithik Roshan, who has also given a verbal nod to the project. Farah has reworked the whole script and designed it to suit the contemporary times. They needed a superstar who would command the same screen presence as Big B and Duggu was their first choice. "

Now, you may wonder that even SRK is very much capable to recreate the same aura as that of the Shahenshah of B-town. However, the reason why she chose the Super 30 actor over the dimpled Khan is his age. The source added, "They didn't want someone too old or too young for this movie. The hero has to look the eldest of the lot and still not too old for marriage. They wanted someone in their 40s as the role would fit them perfectly. In fact, even Amit ji was 40 when Satte Pe Satta released." Well, that explains it all!

We are sort of glad that SRK and Farah are not collaborating for this movie. The reason is, we do want a Main Hoon Na 2 from them rather than any remake! For now, let us wait for Duggu to make the announcement!
