Leading the pack was Dhurandhar with 24 nods, followed by Mohit Suri’s romantic musical Saiyaara with 17, and the eventual Best Film winner Homebound with 15. Other notable contenders in the mix included the historical epic Chhaava, the socially conscious Haq, and the indie favourite Superboys of Malegaon.

‘Dhurandhar’ Dominates Screen Awards 2026

While Homebound was recognised for its storytelling, Dhurandhar proved to be an unstoppable force at the podium. The film’s 14-award sweep was led by Aditya Dhar, who won Best Director and Best Dialogue.
