Saina Nehwal has had quite a phenomenal run as a badminton player. She has brought home several accolades through her fabulous performance. In fact, she also bagged the first individual bronze medal in women's badminton at the ongoing Asian Games, making it a historic win. To recreate the journey of the ace badminton player from the streets of India to international acclaim is something any actor would happily take up.

Enter, Shraddha Kapoor. While earlier there were speculations stating that the film has been dropped and that Shraddha Kapoor won't be playing Saina Nehwal in her biopic, the actress has refuted the claims and confirmed that the shoot will begin next month. As per a quote was given to Mumbai Mirror, Shraddha stated, “It’s a difficult sport, very challenging, but I’m enjoying myself. I’ve already taken 38–40 classes, but there’s still a long way to go which is why even though we start filming next month, we will shoot the badminton scenes only early next year.”

Thanks to a super hectic schedule with two movies releasing consecutively, Shraddha barely has time to breathe, let alone follow the Asian Games. However, she has affirmed that she will start the shoot next month. She is quite impressed by the dedication and sincerity of the director, Amol Gupte, and hopes to reflect the same in the biopic as well.

As of now, the diva is gearing up for the release of her horror-comedy, Stree, with Rajkummar Rao and Batti Gul Meter Chalu with Shahid Kapoor. Amid her Saina Nehwal biopic shooting, the actress will also head to Tollywood to wrap up the last schedule of Saaho, which stars Prabhas.
