It’s raining biopics on Bollywood and the newest to join the bandwagon is Shaad Ali's  ‘Soorma’. Diljit Doasanjh- Taapsee Pannu starrer film is gaining positive reviews all over. Although it had a slow start initially on the ticket windows, the second day is seeing good response, that might make the makers happy. On day one, the flick based on hockey players Sandeep Singh, raked in Rs 3.20 crore. Now, on day 2, it collected Rs 5. 05 crore taking the total to Rs 8.25 crore. Despite the less publicity, the movie raked in a decent amount.

It is important to note that the sports drama is competing with the much awaited Hollywood movie Ant-Man and The Wasp. Despite the popularity of the franchise, the audience is choosing to view the refreshing and inspirational story of the Indian hockey player which is laud worthy. Also, the movie is expected to collect more this weekend, owing to the positive word of mouth. The film is produced by the actress Chitrangda Singh.

On the other hand, Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju continues to rule box-office even after 16 days. The Rajkumar Hirani film raked in more than rs 300 crore nationwide and Rs 500 crore worldwide making it an easy blockbuster.
