Madame Tussauds is named after the French wax sculpture Marie Tussauds who used to assist a physician skilled in wax modelling. After his death in 1794, she inherited her mentor’s vast collections and exhibited them all over Europe. In the year 1836, the first museum opened its door in London. Since then, Madame Tussauds has been a key attraction in major cities of Europe and America. It has 300 wax models. While the Bollywood actors were honored toe to toe with the Hollywood celebrities, B-Town actresses soon became an added charm to the reputed display. Let us take a look at some of the other Bollywood actresses who have the honor of being carved in a wax statue at this museum.

1. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the first Bollywood actress to have her wax statue at the prestigious Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London in the year 2004 joining her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan. The much-talked wax figure of the former Miss World was also displayed at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in Times Square, New York in 2007.

2. Kareena Kapoor Khan

Bollywood’s heroine Kareena Kapoor Khan became the second Bollywood actress after Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her statue was displayed in 2011. Her statue is from her hit movie Jab We Met. But according to media reports, her wax statue was missing, and another wax has been unveiled in 2014 at Madame Tussauds in Singapore. She has been draped in a red saree that resembles her Chammak Chalo look from Ra.One.

3. Madhuri Dixit

Dhak dhak girl Madhuri Dixit had already made her presence felt at the Madame Tussauds, London. With husband Dr Sriram Nene and sons Arin and Ryan, the star unveiled her statue in 2012. Her statue portrays her rather perfectly in an elegant saree and the smile that continues stealing many hearts!

4. Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif is the latest Bollywood actress in Madame Tussauds, London. The sculpted wax statue was unveiled in March 2015. A team of nearly 20 artists worked to give the figure its perfect features. Her statue in Tussauds is one of the most recent additions under the Bollywood category.

Compared to the standards, Madame Tussauds Delhi has begun on a modest scale. It covers entertainment along with history, music, sports. There is US Pop Star Beyonce standing in fishnet stocking and looking across to Bollywood legend Madhubala's frozen dance from the movie Mughal-e-Azam. The visitors are encouraged to interact with the life-like figures of the celebrities. They enjoy clicking selfies with those whom they have admired only on the big screens. Now with Sunny Leone too, making her presence there soon, we can say her die-hard fans will pay a visit here.
