Empire actor Jussie Smollett has been charged by the Chicago Police Department for filing a false report. He faces up to three years in prison if convicted. Jussie had allegedly lied about being the victim of a racist and homophobic attack. The world had stood up in solidarity with the actor. But the new development in the case surely comes as a shock. Especially to USA president, Donald Trump. POTUS took to his Twitter handle to channelise his anger with words. He lashed out at Jussie for lying and called him out to be a racist.

Jussie, in his initial claims, had said that his attackers were MAGA supporters as they said, "This is MAGA country,". This certainly added fuel to the political fire that engulfs the whole of America at the moment. But after the arrest, Donald Trump savoured the opportunity. He tweeted, ".@JussieSmollett - what about MAGA and the tens of millions of people you insulted with your racist and dangerous comments!? #MAGA (sic)"

Chicago Police Department held a press conference to address the issue after Jussie's arrest. The police said that Jussie's motivation was to gain publicity through his false claims in order to increase his value. He was apparently upset with his salary on the TV show, Empire.

Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson talked about the arrest during a press conference. He said that he wished victims of gun violence in America got as much attention as Jussie's case did.
