Marvel fans are still dealing with the loss of Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man aka Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame and while it has been made clear time and again that we won't be seeing the actor suiting up again, new reports suggest the opposite. As we know, the upcoming launch of new streaming service, Disney Plus will allow for more Marvel stories to be told and it seems for one of the projects, RDJ may be returning as Iron Man. Well, before you get too excited about seeing the actor suiting up again, we must tell you that the reports suggest that it could be only for a voiceover. Robert Downey Jr Calls Retiring from MCU 'Very Sobering'.

As reported by the Independent, Downey Jr will return as Tony once more in a voiceover capacity for rumoured new series Ironheart. Ironheart follows Riri Williams, the teenage genius who continues Tony’s legacy in the comics. If the recent reports are to go by, RDJ will return as Tony's voiceover who will appear as an AI, same as Paul Bettany’s J.A.R.V.I.S.

In the comics, Riri Williams is introduced when Stark is in a coma. She is trained up by her AI, who is voiced by Stark and hence this will bring Robert Downey Jr back into the Marvel universe. The makers are yet to make an official announcement about the same but fans are certainly going to be thrilled to see Downey Jr return to MCU in whichever way he can.  Robert Downey Jr Honoured with Disney Legend Award at D23 Expo 2019.

Downey Jr's return may not be highly unlikely considering several other Marvel stars such as Michael B Jordan, Hayley Atwell and Jeff Goldblum will be returning to MCU for What If? the animated series. Ironheart could certainly become much more interesting with RDJ's contribution, let's hope we hear some official news on it soon.
