This week, a man who rules the hearts of millions of fans will take on an animal who used to rule the Earth billions of years ago! In what can we call as the clash of the 'titans', Rajinikanth's Kaala is releasing on June 7, along with Hollywood potboiler, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Both are huge movies, going by their box office prospects and are viewed as potential winners.

Rajinikanth is returning to the big screen after a gap of two years with Kaala, and going by how his last movie, Kabali, was received, expect a blockbuster this time as well. Meanwhile, the Jurassic World sequel is the followup to the 2015 blockbuster, which had earned more than $1 billion at the box office worldwide. Even in India, it had done tremendous business. After all, who doesn't love dinosaurs? Plus, its lead star Chris Pratt is quite popular among the Indian viewers thanks to his leading role in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy series.

So, in case you have been living under the rock or something, here's a little brief about both the movies that are competing at the box office.

Kaala

Directed by Pa Ranjith, who earlier made Kakka Muttai and Kabali, the movie stars Rajinikanth as a beloved slum-lord in Mumbai. Nana Patekar plays the primary antagonist, while the movie also stars Huma Qureshi, Eswari Rao Samuthirakani, Anjali Patil, Aravind Akash, Ravi Kale and Pankaj Tripathi. The movie is more in news thanks to Thalaiva's recent foray into politics and Karnataka banning Kaala over Rajinikanth's controversial comments on the Cauvery issue.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

JA Bayona takes reins from the director of the first Jurassic World, Colin Trevorrow, in what is a bigger, meaner followup. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard return for the sequel, while the movie also stars Toby Stephens, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith and Jeff Goldblum.
