When Ranveer Singh endorsed condoms everybody was taken aback. In fact, when the Simmba actor revealed that it was he who approached the brand for this commercial he shocked quite a few and pleasantly surprised many of us. Because no mainstream actor had done a condom commercial forget about asking for one. It was always actresses with a "sexy" image like Pooja Bedi, Bipasha Basu and Sunny Leone who had been the face of this product. Ranveer broke stereotypes and proved that stars should pick their endorsement deals carefully instead of promoting fairness creams and promoting existing harmful stereotypes in the advertisements they featured in.
And now we have Sidharth Malhotra who has decided to step outside the regular path that a Hindi film hero would. The Student Of The Year hero has signed up an endorsement deal for a cosmetic brand. That's right, Sidharth Malhotra will be one of the few male celebrities to be the face of a makeup campaign. What's also special is the concept, which plays on the cruelty-free philosophy. The Brothers actor was excited about the quirky campaign #TestedOnSid, which highlights the 'guilt-free glamour'. Interestingly, Jacqueline Fernandes, who is also an endorser of cruelty free cosmetics and the actor was linked the beauty while they worked together on A Gentleman. We wonder if Jacky had any influence on Sid.

The actor on signing the endorsement said, "I first thought I had heard wrong when a makeup brand wanted to feature me in their campaign. I mean, it’s one thing to be a metrosexual man, but makeup? Really? Then I saw the premise, which is #TestedOnSID, and signed up as a willing guinea pig because I’d any day sign up for a product that is not tested on animals." The actor also joked, "I hope their (ladies who're using these products) men clear the ‘test’ with flying colours."
