Saif Ali Khan is currently in London where he is shooting for his upcoming film, Jawaani Jaaneman. While his fans are waiting to see the first glimpse of this film, an announcement about the actor's next project has upped all the excitement. Saif will be seen as an Indian diplomat in his next film, we hear. He will be seen as JP Singh,  India’s Deputy High Commissioner in Islamabad, who played a very important role in bringing back a Delhi-based Indian girl named Uzma Ahmed, who was kidnapped in Pakistan, at the behest of former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj.

If you are wondering who will play the role of Uzma, then let us tell you that in all likelihood, it will be Shraddha Kapoor. According to Pinkvilla, the actress has come on-board for this project. A source has revealed to the entertainment portal that Shivam Nair, who will be directing the film wants to "have a prominent face as Uzma" and looks like he has found one in Shraddha.

"Although there were initial talks initiated with Ileana D'Cruz and Parineeti Chopra around two years ago, now, he has almost closed the deal with Shraddha Kapoor. He met Shraddha and narrated the whole story to her. She has liked it a lot and feels it will be her most powerful character till date. She has verbally given it a go ahead but the makers are meeting the actress once she's back from Austria (she's shooting a song for Saaho there). After the meeting, they will discuss the modalities," the source was quoted by the entertainment portal. Watch Taimur Playing with Saif Ali Khan on the Sets of Jawaani Jaaneman in This Too-Cute Video!

For those of you who don't know about Uzma's story, she reportedly fell in love with Tahir Ali, a driver from Pakistan. She traveled all the way to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa only to find out that he was already married and had four kids. She was then kidnapped, sedated and forced to marry him at gunpoint. There came a point when she miraculously managed to reach the Indian high commission and was brought back to India in 2017. She was all of 27 when this incident happened with her. In April this year, she opened her own beauty parlour in Seelampur, which is the Northeast side of Delhi.
