Gorilla teaser: Jiiva and Shalini Pandey's heist film featuring a chimpanzee looks like a solid entertainer - watch video

After months of wait the first teaser of the upcoming one-of-a-kind heist film, Gorilla has dropped. The Tamil film featuring Jiiva, Shalini Pandey and a Gorilla in the lead roles looks quite interesting. Sathish, Vivek Prasanna, Yogi Babu and Motta Rajendran in supporting roles. The movie tells the story of a group of bank robbers who take help of a gorilla to carry out their heists. The first teaser of the film refrains from showing us the animal fully. But that makes senses since makers would want to make the big reveal in the trailer. In the teaser, you can see the silhouette of a chimpanzee holding an assault rifle. The bank robbers are dressed as nuns, which also looks comical.

Gorilla has been directed by Don Sandy. Talking about having a real chimpanzee on the sets, the director has earlier said in an interview, "Like humans, animals, too, go through various phases and moods. I happened to watch a documentary on them and decided it will be interesting to feature a real chimpanzee in the film. We went to Thailand, sought permission and got all the paperwork done before we began our shoot. Of course, it is different to shoot with an animal, but we waited patiently to get the shots. There was a trainer with us all through the shoot. The sequences involving the chimpanzee were shot in Thailand. The rest of the portions were shot in Chennai."

Music is scored by Vikram Vedha fame Sam C. S.
