Alluri Seetharamaraju

In 1882, the British Raj had passed the Madras Forest act which led to the restriction of free movements of Tribal people. However, Seetharamaraju was responsible for the Rampa rebellion of 1922-24, which revolved around a group of tribal leaders and other sympathisers' fight against the British. He was immensely inspired by the revolutionaries of Bengal. With his followers, he'd often steal guns and ammunition to attack the British officers and was even responsible for the death of an officer called Scott Coward. Interestingly, Telugu actor Krishna did a movie on the same freedom fighter in 1974.

Komaram Bheem

He was a tribal leader who fought for the liberation of Hyderabad. He fought against the ruling Nizam government and their atrocities. Though there was a shortage of resources at his end, he used primitive weapons such as muzzleloaders, spears, lances, bows and arrows and swords in his fight. Yes, previously a movie on made on this legend by Allani Sridha that released in 1990.

RRR is being made on a whopping budget of Rs 400 crore. Though there were reports about Parineeti Chopra coming on board for it, seems like Alia managed to win this race. The wait to see his brilliant direction is still a year long and we hope he keeps un intrigue through BTS videos and pictures meanwhile.
