Tamil superstars Ajithkumar aka Thala Ajith and Nayanthara are collaborating once again for Viswasam. They had earlier worked in hits like Aegan, Billa and Arrambham. Viswasam is also Ajith's fourth movie with director Siva, having delivered three blockbusters with him in Veeram, Vedalam and Vivegam. However, unlike their last film Vivegam, Viswasam is made on a smaller scale, with the movie aiming to be a family entertainer.

Thanks to the film industry's one and a half month strike, the movie's shoot has been getting postponed, but there is some good news on the front. As the strike has ended, wheels are rolling slowly regarding the movie development. The shoot is reported to begin from 7, and a huge set has already been created for the movie in Hyderabad's Ramoji Film City that will replicate North Chennai. Ajith is also rumoured to have taken up a new look for the movie.

Viswasam is touted to be a family entertainer, with the movie also starring  Thambi Ramaiah and Yogi Babu. D Imman scored the music for Viswasam that is produced by Satyajothi Films.

Earlier it was scheduled to release during Diwali 2018, however, with the shoot getting delayed, it remains to be seen if the movie sticks to the original release plan. Since it is made on a smaller scale, director Siva might be able to wrap up the shoot by September, thereby making it to Diwali. If that doesn't happen, then the makers will reschedule the movie's release date to make it arrive during Pongal next year.
