Megastar Amitabh Bachchan returned with a bang as the host of the much awaited Kaun Banega Crorepati 10, which aired on Sony entertainment Television. Big B charmed one and all with his stupendous on-screen presence once again. The actor is undoubtedly one of the finest actors the industry has; Big B is inspirational in more ways than one. He is not only a superhero in reel-life but also in real-life. Yes, the superstar, at the recent press conference of KBC 10, opened up about his real-life battle - his diagnosis and journey with Hepatitis B. Talking about it the actor said, "My associations with Tuberculosis and Hepatitis B started a year back. I have no qualms in admitting that I am associated with the Tuberculosis campaign because I was a patient myself and I am currently battling Hepatitis B."

Further revealing his personal battle with Hepatitis B, which he contracted after his accident on the sets of 'Coolie', Amitabh further added, "In 1982, when I had an accident on the sets of Coolie, I needed blood and there were about 200 donors and one of them, unfortunately, was carrying the Hepatitis B virus which could not be detected at that time and that went into my system in 1982 and in 2006-07 it was suddenly discovered that it has eaten 75% of my liver. So, I am actually surviving on 25% of the liver."

Advising everyone to get regular check-ups done, the Pink actor went on to say, "I was able to talk about Hepatitis B because I was able to give a live example. The example to not to have sympathy for me or anything like that, the example was, 'get yourself detected, do your tests'. If you do your tuberculosis test, if you do your hepatitis test, then if you have a problem, it can be cured and not wait for 15 years like me."

On the professional front, the actor, who was recently seen in a guest appearance in Pad Man, will next be seen in Aamir Khan starrer Thugs of Hindostan.
