The third season of Stranger Things released on July 4 and it has been driving the fans of the show insane. The Netflix series which premiered its first season in 2016 left the audiences impressed with its thrilling story. According to the data released by Netflix US, 40.7 million accounts have watched Stranger Things 3 in the four days since its July 4th premiere. The Twitter account of Netflix released the numbers of the show's viewing and it has been incredibly high. According to the streaming giant, 18.2 million users have already completed the entire season. As per the company's metrics system, a view is counted as anyone having watched at least 70 per cent of an episode or movie.

Netflix recently broke its movie record in June, when Jenifer Aniston and Adam Sandler starrer Murder Mystery fetched nearly 30.9 million views in three days and now Stranger Things has managed to beat even that record. The series starring Millie Bobby Brown, Sadie Sink, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp in lead roles took things a notch higher with the new season.
