Mumbai, September 20: Fuel prices continue to rise causing immense trouble to the commuters. In Mumbai, a litre of petrol is priced at Rs 89.60 per litre & diesel is at Rs 78.42 per litre. In Delhi on the other hand, petrol and diesel are priced at Rs 82.22 per litre & Rs.73.87 per litre, respectively. Will Petrol Prices Reach Rs 100 Mark? Reportedly, the petrol price has shot by Rs 5.02 per litre and diesel by Rs 5.15 - the most in any single month, since the daily revision in fuel prices was introduced in June last year. As fuel prices inch closer to the psychological Rs 90-mark in Mumbai where petrol and diesel are the costliest, Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari Tuesday admitted that fuel prices are "very high and hurting the public".

Fuel rates in the country have been going up almost daily since August 1. They fell only once on August 13 and have been on record levels for nearly two weeks now. The soaring fuel rates have burnt a hole in the pockets of consumers.
