Nizamabad, April 7: A 15-year-old girl Sumaya died and 13 other girls were hospitalized after allegedly consuming food in Madrasa in Nizamabad city of Telangana. According to inputs from ANI, the girls complained of stomach pain and vomiting.

As per the report published in The Hindu, all girls were undergoing religious education in old madrasa run by Abdul Aziz, who is a registered medicine practitioner. As per the report, Instead of immediately shifting the girls to a hospital he gave them some pills, but their condition deteriorated after which they were taken to a government hospital. Sumaya died before reaching the hospital.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), North Division, "The 15-year-old girl complained of vomiting and motions following which she was immediately shifted to the local hospital but the doctors declared her brought dead". ACP further added, “Later in the day, 13 more girls complained of the same and were shifted to Nizamabad Government Hospital. All the 13 minor girls are currently stable and undergoing treatment.” The police has registered a case and started investigation.
