Mumbai, April 30: Every month, banks remained closed for certain days, including on the second and fourth Saturdays, all Sundays of the month and national or state holidays. In the month of May 2024, banks will remain closed for a period of 10 days. May will also see banks observing 14 non-working days, including the second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays of the month.

May 1, Wednesday

Banks will remain closed for services in major cities nationwide because of Maharashtra Day or May Day (Labour Day). Labour Day is celebrated under various names across the country with the day called Kamgar Din in Hindi, Karmikara Dinacharan in Kannada, Karmika Dinotsava in Telugu and Kamgar Divas in Marathi.

May 5, Sunday

Banking services across the country will remain shut on account of being a Sunday.

May 7, Tuesday

Banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Goa until polling for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.

May 8, Wednesday

Banks in West Bengal will close its services on account of the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.

May 10, Friday

Banking services will be closed in Karnataka because of Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya.

May 11 and 12, Saturday and Sunday

Banking services will remain closed for customers on account of May 26 being a Sunday.
