Pulwama, April 24: An Indian Army Jawan has been injured in an encounter with Jaish-e-Mohammed militants in Pulwama’s lam Tral in Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter broke out in the morning after an army patrol was fired at by the militants.

According to reports, two militants are believed to be trapped in the area. Joint team of Indian Army's 42 Rashtriya Rifles, Special Operations Group of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force have launched the search operations in the forest area in Lam, reported Greater Kashmir. Further details are awaited.

Tral is the native town of slain Hizbul Mujaheedin commander Burhan Wani. Wani was killed in 2016. Even militant Zakir Musa is also from Tral. It considered to be the stronghold of terror activities in Kashmir.
