Shangri LA, June 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi while interacting with students of Nanyang Technical University (NTU) in Singapore on Friday said that he had not taken a vacation for even 15 minutes since 2001. PM Modi also emphasised on the need of innovation in every sphere of life. Giving a boost to India-Singapore ties, six agreements were signed to strengthen academic and industry partnerships between NTU and leading Indian universities and institutions.

The Prime Minister visited the exhibition held by NTU. PM Modi also participated in a dialogue titled 'Transforming Asia through Innovation' with NTU President Professor Subra Suresh. Kris Gopalakrishnan, Chairman of Axilor Ventures and co-founder and former CEO of Infosys announced a gift of 4 million Singapore dollar today to support postdoctoral and student research activities at NTU.

PM Modi is on a five-day visit to South East Asia. Earlier Modi visited Malasiya and Indonesia as part of his Government’s ‘Act East Policy’. On second day of his Singapore visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered the keynote address at the Shangri-LA dialogue. This was the first time an Indian Prime Minister addressed the event. In his address,  Both the countries agreed to deepen their economic and defence ties. Earlier on Friday, PM Modi spoke at a joint press conference with his Singapore counterpart Lee Hsien Loong.  Prime Minister Modi yesterday launched three Apps in the country for digital payments. These apps are BHIM, RuPay and SBI app.
