The National Capital Region in Delhi is already in news for the poor quality of air its citizens breathe. The problem has been further aggravated by the dust storms that had hit Delhi over the past few weeks.

“The sky will remain partly cloudy with the possibility of rains or thundershowers along with strong gusty winds,” said a scientist at India Meteorological Department (IMD). Delhi is still some 10 days away from the arrival of Monsoon, but conditions were already overcast on Monday and little to light rainfall has been predicted in the city.

The surrounding states have also been issued warning considering dust storms. Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh are also likely to face rainfall with gusty winds, said the IMD department.

The northeast is already drowning in misery and the weather agency has said that Assam and Meghalaya will continue to receive heavy rainfall on Monday as well. Reports of flash floods have already been reported in the past few weeks and landslides have been caused due to the incessant rainfall which has also resulted in loss of lives and property.
