Kerala, September 10: The National Commission for Women on Kerala Independent MLA PC George has strongly condemned the objectionable and derogatory comments made by the MLA PC George and has issued summons to him. According to reports, the legislator in Kerala had said that the nun who is demanding action against sexual assault on her by a Jalandhar-based bishop, is a prostitute. Renuka Shahane Slams Kerala MLA PC George for Calling the Allegedly Raped Nun a ‘Prostitute’.

PC George as quoted in the report said, "No one has doubt that the nun is a prostitute. Twelve times she enjoyed it and the 13th time it is rape? Why didn't she complain the first time? (sic)."

According to an India Today report, in July, the nun had filed a rape and sexual assault complaint against a bishop based in Jalandhar, Punjab. The bishop reportedly used to often visit Kerala for official work, during which he allegedly raped her on numerous occasions. The case gained traction after media reported the matter and an investigation was launched under public pressure. Last month, investigation team had gone to Jalandhar to record the Bishop's statement.

A nun had alleged in June that Mulakkal sexually abused her several times at a convent in Kuruvalangadu near Kottayam in Kerala between 2014 to 2016. An FIR was registered against the bishop and a 114-page detailed statement was taken from the nun and other inmates of the convent.
