Mumbai, July 2: After a SpiceJet flight from Jaipur skidded and overshot the main runway at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport due to heavy rains last night, flight services at the airport may remain affected till tomorrow. Due to this, 52 flights have been cancelled and more than 55 have been diverted.  Mumbai Rains: Local Train Services Hit Due to Heavy Showers, Around 54 Flights Diverted.

Mumbai Airport tweeted saying that currently, the second runway is in use. The team is trying their best to make the main runway in operation, but it may take 48 hours. This will also result in flight delays.

Keeping the inconvenience which passengers are facing at this hour, few airlines have decided to waive off cancellation fees. Due to rain-related disruptions in Mumbai, Vistara has waived change and cancel fees for all flights to/from Mumbai on July 2 and 3. Only fare difference if any, will be applicable for the date change.

Air India, on the other hand, has waived off all charges for rescheduling/no-show/cancellation of bookings on flights to and from Mumbai with scheduled departure from 11:45 of July 1 to midnight July 2.

SpiceJet is offering a full waiver on cancellation and date change charges for travel to and from Mumbai for July 2 and 3. Fare difference if any will be applicable for change in travel date.
