Nellore, Sep 12: In a shocking incident, attending classes in Andhra Pradesh's school turned out to be a nightmare for students after their school Principal thrashed them mercilessly. The incident, which took place two days back, came to light after a tribal welfare organisation registered a case against the principal who purportedly "mercilessly" bashed up the boys using a stick, dragged them and banged their head on the pillar.

In a video that went viral on social media, the principal of the government-run Tribal Welfare Residential School in Dargamitta of Nellore town in Andhra Pradesh was seen brutally beating young school kids. According to a report by the News Minute, several photos and videos went viral on the messaging app WhatsApp and other social media platforms, capturing the actions of the principal.

In what is believed to be a case of ‘corporal punishment’, sources informed that the principal resorted to such acts on a regular basis. The video shows Principal Venkata Ramana beating young kids, while one photograph shows the principal holding a boy and banging his head against a pillar.

The incident came to light after the Andhra Pradesh Yanadi Samakya, an organisation that works for tribal rights on Tuesday complained to the Nellore District Collector and SP about Principal Venkata Ramana, who allegedly regularly assaulted his students. Reports inform that a case has been registered against Principal Venkata Ramana under section 75 of Juvenile Justice Act 2015, SC&ST Prevention of Atrocities Act along with IPC 323 (causing voluntary hurt) and 324 (causing hurt with dangerous weapon or means), said Nellore's Vedayapalem Inspector. However, reports inform that the Principal Venkata Ramana is yet to be arrested.

The other video that went viral shows a student on the floor as the principal hits him. Another photograph shows the principal holding a boy by his hair and then dragging a boy by his collar. The report further says that a video captured around the same time shows Ramana using a stick to beat two young students, while in another video footage, he is seen kicking a boy.
