On Sunday, the team has arrived at the spot of the incident in Lucknow's Gomti Nagar extension. Earlier in the day, ADG Lucknow Zone Rajiv Krishna and other senior police officials meet the family of the deceased.  Later while interacting with media, Krishna said that it was a serious incident. He further added, "To ensure a similar incident does not occur again, we have given strict instructions to all officers." Yesterday, The Uttar Pradesh government accepted all the demands of Tiwari’s family. Authorities have sanctioned the demands in writing.

Lucknow District Magistrate (DM) Kaushalraj Sharma confirmed that the CBI inquiry would be initiated if wanted by the victim’s family. Tiwari’s wife, Kalpana has been given a job along with the compensation of Rs 25 lakh. The DM also said that the enquiry would be completed in 30 days. Kalpana had written to Yogi Adityanath demanding a CBI inquiry into the incident. In addition to this, she also demanded a compensation of Rs 1 crore and a job in the police department. Yesterday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured of conducting an investigation into the case.

The tragic incident took place on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday around 1:30 am in Lucknow's upscale Gomti Nagar extension area when Tiwari was returning home in his SUV and was stopped by two policemen. After he allegedly did not stop his SUV during the police checking, one of the policemen took out his gun and fired at him. The 38-year-old Apple employee was survived by his wife and two daughters.

The autopsy revealed on Saturday that the bullet had hit Tiwari in the chin and got stuck between the neck and the head which led to his death. However, the accused constable Prashant Chaudhary claimed that Tiwari hit him with his car and drove it over the constable three times with the intention to kill him. He said that the bullet was shot by mistake.
