New Delhi, August 30: Indian Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat will visit Srinagar on Friday to review the security situation and preparedness of security forces to deal with the situation in Kashmir valley. This will be the Army Chief's first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 from the state. Jammu And Kashmir: Mobile Phone Services Resume in Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Rajouri And Poonch Districts.

The Army chief's visit comes at a time when Jammu and Kashmir governor Satya Pal Malik and Ministry of External Affairs were stressing that normalcy is returning to the Valley. On Wednesday, Malik had said that there have been no civilian casualties in Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370.

The mobile phone services which were snapped across Jammu And Kashmir since August 5, have been resumed in five districts of Jammu region- Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Rajouri and Poonch.

On Wednesday, high schools in the Kashmir Valley have reopened in areas where restrictions have been lifted. The officials further informed that shops and business establishments can also open in areas where there are no restrictions. The restrictions on the movement of people have now been eased in 81 police station areas across the Valley.

The state has been on lockdown since August 4, following the abrogation of Article 370, and all communication services in the region have been blocked, including cellular network, landline, mobile internet, and broadband connectivity.
