Arvind Kejriwal Announces National Town Hall Against E20 Fuel, Plans To Submit 2 Lakh Petitions to PM Modi (Video)
AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal has announced a National Town Hall Against E20 on August 1 at the Constitution Club in New Delhi, where around 2 lakh public petitions on ethanol-blended fuel will be submitted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The announcement comes amid continued debate over E20 petrol and concerns about its impact on older, non-E20-compliant vehicles.
Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal has announced a National Town Hall Against E20 to be held on August 1 at the Constitution Club in New Delhi. The event will focus on concerns surrounding ethanol-blended fuel (E20), and Kejriwal said around 2 lakh petitions collected from citizens will be handed over to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The town hall comes amid an ongoing public and political debate over the nationwide rollout of E20 petrol. Kejriwal has been campaigning against the policy in recent weeks, urging the Centre to make E20 optional and allow consumers the choice of purchasing pure petrol.

Arvind Kejriwal Invites Public Participation
Announcing the event in a post on X, Kejriwal shared a video and wrote: "When the youth of the country united and raised their voice, Dharmendra Pradhan had to resign. We will also have to unite and raise our voice against E20. This Saturday, we are organizing the 'National Townhall Against E20', where you can share your views on E20 by participating. You can also join this online. All of you are invited."
According to ANI, the town hall will also serve as a platform to present public feedback gathered through an online campaign, with approximately 2 lakh petitions expected to be submitted to the Prime Minister.
Debate Over E20 Fuel
The announcement follows weeks of discussion over the implementation of E20 petrol across the country. Critics have raised concerns that vehicles manufactured before 2023 and not designed for E20 fuel could face issues related to performance and compatibility. Kejriwal has previously sought written assurances from automobile manufacturers and requested that consumers be given the option of choosing between E20 and pure petrol at fuel stations.
The development also comes days after former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from his position following protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which had demanded his resignation over alleged irregularities in the education system, particularly the NEET-UG paper leak.
Kejriwal's latest initiative marks the next phase of AAP's campaign against the E20 fuel rollout, with the party seeking broader public participation through both in-person and online engagement.
