Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka and a group of party activists were confronted and turned back by local residents in the Rampura-Kanwarpura area of Bagru village near Jaipur.
The incident occurred when Ranka and CJP representatives arrived at a local government primary school as part of their "School Theek Karo" (Fix the Schools) campaign. The initiative aims to audit and highlight deteriorating public educational infrastructure across Rajasthan. According to reports, several residents objected to the unannounced visit, accusing the activists of using local governance issues for political posturing. The resulting verbal altercation quickly escalated, leading locals to demand the team's immediate departure before staging a demonstration against the party. In a public statement following the event, Ranka alleged that the opposition was staged by political rivals rather than local residents. He claimed that team members who arrived ahead of him faced physical assault and intimidation intended to block their inspection of the dilapidated school facility. Conversely, local residents stated that while the primary school's infrastructure remains in severe disrepair—forcing classes to operate out of temporary accommodations—they prefer community-led resolutions and official state intervention over external political involvement. The confrontation follows recent regulatory actions by the Rajasthan Secondary Education Department. Citing student privacy and safety guidelines, the department issued a circular restricting unauthorized visitors, media recordings, and unapproved political delegations from entering public school premises without explicit administrative permission. Local authorities monitored the situation in Bagru to prevent further escalation. No official police complaints or major injuries were immediately confirmed.
