Mumbai Police have registered an FIR against an unidentified motorcyclist after a video showing a bike carrying two people speeding on the Atal Setu in the wrong direction went viral on social media. Two-wheelers are prohibited on the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, and police have launched a search to identify and trace the rider.
The FIR was registered based on a complaint filed by the Wadala Traffic Police. Authorities have also contacted the person who uploaded the viral video and are examining CCTV footage from the bridge and nearby roads as part of the investigation.

Mumbai Police Hunt for Wrong-Side Biker Who Flouted Two-Wheeler Ban
The viral clip shows a biker with a pillion rider travelling at speed on Atal Setu, where two-wheelers are not permitted. During the inquiry, the person who shared the video informed police that the motorcycle's front number plate was broken, while the rear registration plate was covered, making identification difficult.
Following the complaint, the Sewri Police registered an FIR against the unidentified rider for allegedly endangering public safety and violating traffic regulations.
Police checked surveillance footage at the Navi Mumbai-side toll plaza but found no evidence that the motorcycle exited the bridge from that end. Investigators now suspect the rider may have turned back towards the Mumbai entry point after entering the bridge.
"It is possible that he may have returned towards the entry on the Mumbai-side. We are examining surveillance camera footage and are trying to find out which route the biker took before getting on to Atal Setu," a senior traffic police officer said. Authorities are scanning CCTV footage from Atal Setu and surrounding areas to determine the biker's movements before and after the incident.
Police are continuing efforts to identify the rider through surveillance footage and other available evidence. The incident has once again highlighted concerns over traffic violations on Atal Setu, where two-wheelers are prohibited to ensure road safety.
