Hyderabad, May 7: Hyderabad, Telangana, has reported a beer shortage. The shortage has reportedly hit beer lovers the hardest, as they cannot get their favourite beverage. The development comes amid soaring temperatures as the city faces a severe beer shortage. According to several news reports, beer, among the popular summer drinks, has been missing from all outlets and bars in the city.

No Beer in Hyderabad

Several wine shops across the city have reportedly hung "No Beer" boards, leaving beer lovers unhappy and distraught. Reports also suggest that only high-end label beers that are three times costlier than regular beer are available. These include rising temperatures, the code of conduct for Lok Sabha elections, and the alleged unavailability of water. D Venkateshwar, a businessman from the city, said the demand for beer increases significantly during summer. "This year too, the demand is almost double not only in Hyderabad but across Telangana," he added. Meanwhile, there is a huge hue and cry at almost all liquor outlets in the city.

No Beer Boards Hung Up on Wine Shops

Hyderabad beer lovers have blamed the Telangana State Beverage Corporation for the beer shortage in the city. If reports are to be believed, the corporation has allegedly failed to clear its previous bills. It must be noted that the corporation distributes liquor, including beer, to licensed outlets after procuring it from manufacturers. One user on X wrote, "Only premium beer pints are available to customers; there is no choice for them." Amid all this, liquor outlet owners and businessmen from the city have requested the State government to take necessary steps to ensure a continuous supply of beer in the summer season.
