A horrific road accident captured on CCTV has claimed the life of a 16-year-old school student in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur. The viral footage shows a speeding car allegedly ramming into the teenager's scooty, flinging him nearly 10 feet into the air before the vehicle crashed into a school mini-bus. The victim later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
According to police, the accident occurred around 7:30 am on Sunday on Warehouse Road near Sanjeevani Hospital under the Civil Lines police station limits. A car bearing registration number CG 10 BH 7752 was allegedly being driven at high speed when it collided head-on with the scooty ridden by Rudra Pratap Sharma (16), a resident of Abhishek Nagar, Mangla. The impact of the collision threw the teenager into the air before he landed on the road. Passers-by rushed him to SIMS Hospital, from where he was referred to Apollo Hospital due to the severity of his injuries. He later died during treatment.

Driver Allegedly Fled After Crashing Into School Bus
After hitting the scooty, the driver allegedly lost control of the car and rammed into a school mini-bus (CG 10 NB 8858). While the front portion of the bus was badly damaged, no major injuries were reported among its occupants. Eyewitnesses claimed the driver and other occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled the spot immediately after the accident. Some locals alleged that the car was being driven by a minor, though police said this has not yet been officially confirmed.
Police have seized the damaged vehicle and are examining CCTV footage, eyewitness statements and vehicle ownership records to identify the driver. Officials said if it is found that a minor was behind the wheel, legal action will be taken against the vehicle owner and others responsible under the Motor Vehicles Act and other applicable laws.
Another Fatal Road Accident Reported In Bilaspur
In a separate accident on Sunday afternoon near Navodaya Vidyalaya in the Malhar outpost area under Masturi police station, a Hyva truck collided with two motorcycles.
Three people sustained serious injuries and were rushed to hospital by locals. One of the victims, identified as Shailu Miri (45), died during treatment, while Santosh Bhaina (30) and Dhananjay Dahre (26) remain in critical condition. Police have taken the truck driver into custody and launched an investigation into the incident.
