A 73-year-old man died after being attacked by a buffalo in Kerala’s Kochi on Saturday evening, police said. The incident occurred in the Kaippadamughal area near Kalamassery when the man reportedly tried to drive away the animal after noticing it damaging trees near his residence, as reported by TOI. The deceased was identified as Abu, a local resident of the area. He suffered severe injuries during the attack and was later declared dead while undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital, according to local reports.

Witnesses said the victim sustained serious injuries to his legs and ribs during the attack. Residents rushed to the scene after hearing his cries for help, but they were initially unable to rescue him because the buffalo remained aggressive.

Police Register Case
Police have registered a case of unnatural death and initiated further investigation into the incident. Officials said post-mortem procedures were being carried out before the body would be handed over to the family.
