The sudden escalation follows weeks of demonstrations led by the youth organization at Jantar Mantar. Tensions peaked earlier today when thousands of CJP supporters attempted to march toward Parliament, leading to scuffles with security forces who had erected multiple layers of barricades in the high-security zone.
