Bhopal, May 9: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday issued a notice to Computer Baba after a complaint by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleging that he was campaigning for Indian National Congress candidate Digvijaya Singh and fanning communal sentiments. Bhopal District Collector has also ordered an inquiry to investigate whether Computer Baba, Namdas Tyagi, was granted permission for the three-day camp. Computer Baba Appointed as Chairman of River Test in Madhya Pradesh by Congress Government.

The spiritual guru, who was a minister in previous Madhya Pradesh BJP government, camped in Bhopal along with other saints and campaigned for Congress candidate Digvijaya Singh. Tyagi performed a "Hat Yoga" to ensure that Singh wins in the Lok Sabha elections. He had accused the BJP of fooling the people by using the Ram Temple issue as a political tool. Computer Baba, became a rebel leader after Shivraj Singh Chauhan's government denied a ticket to him to contest elections in Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, Digvijaya is contesting against BJP candidate Sadhvi Pragya. The polling in Bhopal Parliamentary constituency will take place in the sixth phase, May 12.
