Kolkata, May 2: All flights operation from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in West Bengal's Koltaka will be cancelled from 9:30 pm on Friday, May 3, till 6 pm on May 4, Saturday, as the extremely severe Cyclone Fani is expected to make its landfall on Friday morning. The flight services from Odisha's Bhubaneswar Airport has already been suspended from midnight as the cyclone nears the coast, south of Puri district. GoAir, IndiGo Flights To and From Bhubaneswar Airport Cancelled; Vistara Waives Fees as Landfall Nears.

Indian aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in an advisory said that flight operations are being "cancelled in advance in order to avoid passenger inconvenience and safety of operations". Union Minister of Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu requested all the airlines to help in rescue and relief operation in the view of Cyclone Fani. "All airlines are requested to offer all assistance for rescue and relief operations in view of Cyclonic Storm FANI. All relief material should be airlifted to be delivered to officially designated agencies. The control room is set up," he said.

The airlines such as GoAir, IndiGo, Vistara, among others have suspended in and out flights from Bhubaneswar Airport. The airlines are also waiving off cancellation charges and rescheduling charges for flights booked to/for Bhubaneswar and Kolkata.
